Thank you for registering for the Zoom @ Noon - Navigating Mental Health Issues during Covid-19 taking place via Zoom, on Friday May 8th, 2020 – from 12:00pm - 1:00pm.

Please ensure when joining the meeting, your user name is clear with FIRST AND LAST name and identifies who you are, for our registration list and to be admitted from the waiting room.

If this is your first-time using Zoom, please read below for more instructions to ensure the meeting runs smoothly for you. I would recommend “joining the meeting” about 15 minutes early to ensure we have time to troubleshoot any A/V issues. Please feel free to give me a call if you have any difficulties. You can click here https://us02web.zoom.us/j/84697589126 to join the meeting. (if you have not already used Zoom) you will have to download the Zoom program. It should only take a few seconds and once it is downloaded, should load the meeting immediately.

If you have tape or a sticker covering your camera, you will need to remove that, (don’t forget to replace after the meeting is over) and some keyboards will have a mute shortcut function on one of the “F1 – F12” buttons, depending on your type of computer.

Once you have entered the meeting, at the bottom left corner of the Zoom window/page, you will see a microphone and video camera icon, with slashes through them. This means that your microphone and video camera have been muted. If you click on either icon, it will unmute those functions. (If you can see/hear others but you are unable to communicate with anyone via your microphone, please note there is a button that reads “Chat” at the bottom of your screen. You can use this to chat with others and perhaps troubleshoot.

At this point, you should be able to see yourself on your screen, and hear others speaking. They should be able to see/hear you as well.

If this is not the case, you will need to ensure your settings are not prohibiting the app from accessing your microphone/camera. On Microsoft Windows, you can access your privacy settings, by clicking on the Windows Icon in the bottom left corner of your computer. Next click on the “Settings” button (gear wheels – third from the bottom). Once in the “Windows Settings” page, you will see “Privacy Settings” in the middle at the bottom. In the gray section on the left-hand side, near the bottom of the page, you will see “Microphone” and “Camera”. Please ensure both options show “ON” underneath the “Allow Apps to Access Your Microphone/Camera”.
